چکیده

Introduction In conventional multi-shot IR-TFE sequences, e.g., clinical myocardial viability imaging, data collected during the first one or two shots is ignored, to minimize signal intensity variation across the shots. For a typical 8-10 heartbeat acquisition, such dummy shots results in scan overhead of 10-15% longer scan time. We evaluate the effect of removing the start-up shots in such IR-TFE sequences, and minimizing the effect of resulting artifacts

The effect of inversion times on the minimum signal intensity of the contrast agent concentration using inversion recovery t1-weighted fast imaging sequence

Background :Inversion recovery (IR) pulse sequences can generate T1-weighted images with a different range of inversion time (TI) to suppress or null the signal intensity (SI) for a specified tissue. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of TI values on the concentration of the contrast agent, which leads to a minimum signal intensity, using an inversion recovery T1-weighted 3-dim...

2504 Generating Quantitative Susceptibility Maps from 3 D Interleaved Phase Sensitive Inversion Recovery Data

Purpose: Phase Sensitive Inversion Recovery (PSIR) is a method for generating T1-weighted images with a high contrast to noise ratio. Recent studies have shown that high quality PSIR data can be efficiently acquired at high magnetic field strengths using a 3D interleaved sequence in which two separate Turbo Field Echo (TFE) readouts are applied after each inversion pulse. We propose that the ph...

Effect of iron oxide nanoparticles coating type on the relationship between nanoparticles concentration and signal intensity in inver-sion recovery T1-weighted MRI

Background: Ultrasmallsuperparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) nanoparticles are used as blood pool contrast agent for magnetic resonance angiography and perfusion imaging. Our aim in this study was to investigate the effect of the two coating types of iron oxide nanoparticles on the relationship between nanoparticles concentration and signal intensity (SI) in T1-weighted MR images.   Methods : D...

Inversion-recovery echo-planar MR in adult brain neoplasia.

PURPOSE A T1-weighted multishot inversion-recovery (IR) echo-planar MR imaging (EPI) sequence was developed to improve intracranial tissue differentiation; its diagnostic utility was compared with that of conventional axial T1-weighted spin-echo and axial T2-weighted turbo spin-echo sequences. METHODS Eighteen patients with known or suspected primary or metastatic brain neoplasia were imaged ...

Fast T1 Mapping at 7T using Look-Locker TFEPI

INTRODUCTION: To monitor tracer kinetics in multiple sclerosis (MS) it is important to be able to measure longitudinal relaxation time, T1, at high spatial resolution with good coverage across the whole brain, and with high temporal resolution compared to the rate of uptake in lesions (~20-30 minutes [1]). LookLocker (LL) techniques provide a rapid method of measuring T1 by acquiring multiple r...
